Scriptural Introductions

We have sinned and done wrong.  We have been wicked and rebelled; we have turned away from God’s commands and laws.  We have not listened to His servants the prophets, who spoke in His Name”.  Daniel 9:5 & 6.


I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me”.  Psalm 51:3.


Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity”.  Psalm 51:9.


Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no-one living is righteous before You”  Psalm 143:2.


Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity”.  Joel 2:13.


The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him; and have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws He gave us”.  Daniel 9:9 & 10.


The Kingdom of God is near.  Repent and believe the good news !”.  Mark 1:15.


I will set out and go back to my Father and say to him : Father, I have sinned against heaven and against You.  I am no longer worthy to be called Your son”.  Luke 15:18 & 19.


If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness”.  1 John 1:8 & 9.


This is the day that Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”.  Psalm 118:24.


“Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, for He has come to his people and set them free.  He has raised up for us a mighty Saviour.  Luke 1:68, 69.


Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, the whole earth is full of His glory. Isaiah 6:3.


You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for You created all things and by Your will they were created and have their being”.  Revelation 4:11.


If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand ?  But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are to be feared”.  Psalm 130:3-4.


“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call oh Him while He is near.  Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.  Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon  Isaiah 55:6,7.
