REACH-SA's Child Protection Policy

At REACH-SA, the safety, dignity, and well-being of children are of paramount importance. We believe that every child is created in the image of God and deserves to grow, learn, and participate in church life within a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centred environment.

To support this commitment, the REACH-SA Child Protection Policy provides clear standards, procedures, and responsibilities for clergy, staff, volunteers, and church leaders involved in children’s ministry. Through this Child Protection Policy, REACH-SA seeks to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm. At the same time, it promotes a culture of vigilance, accountability, and care across our churches.

In addition, the Child Protection Policy outlines the screening, training, and reporting procedures required for those serving with children. It also provides guidance on responding appropriately to concerns relating to child welfare and protection. The policy reflects REACH-SA’s commitment to complying with South African child protection legislation while upholding biblical principles of justice, integrity, and love for the vulnerable.

We encourage church leaders, volunteers, parents, and congregants to read and become familiar with the REACH-SA Child Protection Policy. Together, we can help ensure that every child entrusted to our care is protected, valued, and supported.
